As nations closed their borders to protect their populations from the spread of Covid-19, seafarers kept supply chains moving at great personal expense. Often described as the lifeblood of the maritime industry, it can seem to seafarers that ‘out of sight’ is 'out of mind'. Compiled from entries to two photography competitions open to seafarers across the world in 2020 and 2021, this collection of photographs offers an insight into their lives during the pandemic. The collection is currently on show at the headquarters of the International Maritime Organization - the UN’s maritime arm - in central London.
